Coordinates from (-12, -12) to (12, 12). Negative numbers ahead!
How to play:
- Read each challenge prompt — it tells you a coordinate.
- Click the matching spot on the map grid.
- Exact hit = 100 pts. Closer = more points.
- Watch out for dangers! Clicking near one costs -20 pts.
About Treasure Map
A hand-drawn pirate map, a set of ordered pairs, and buried treasure at the end of the right coordinates. Easy mode sticks to Quadrant I (positive x, positive y) for players just learning the plane; Hard mode opens up all four quadrants, forcing you to track negative coordinates in both directions at once.
It's the same skill GPS coordinates use in the real world — latitude and longitude are just a coordinate plane wrapped around a sphere, which is exactly where this game's companion article picks up.
