How it works

About Rank File
Five states, one hidden metric — population, land area, elevation, farmland, or something less obvious — and you drag them into the order you think is correct. The metric stays secret until you submit, so the puzzle is reasoning about relative scale (which state is probably bigger, richer, hotter) rather than recalling a memorized number.
Scoring uses Kendall tau, a real statistical measure of how well two rankings agree — a near-miss (two states swapped) scores much better than a completely scrambled order, and the game reflects that instead of grading pass/fail.
